Year 6 Fieldwork
Children in Year 6 welcomed Damian Hinds MP to the school to help with their fieldwork enquiry on the impact that the new houses would have on Rowlands Castle. Damian was superb in answering the questions of the children and led an engaging Q&A with them.
Damien Hinds also led a whole school worship on his role and the impact of democracy and development.
Year 5 had a Half Term focus on plastic and the environment.
Year 5 have been working hard in art to shape, join and mold plastics to create sea creatures. We were inspired by George Nuku who is an artist from New Zealand who uses recycled materials for his work.
We were lucky enough to have a visit from Ocean Generation (a charity of 12 people, aiming to bring ocean awareness to schools). Year 5 loved learning from the marine biologist and enjoyed creating their own creatures which could adapt and live in the Arctic regions.
We were fortunate enough to go on a trip to the beach and found some alarming results! We found a shoe…yes, a shoe, a calculator, and a plastic lightsabre to name a few things.
