Geography

Vision

At Rowlands Castle St John’s, our Geography curriculum holds the intention that pupils will learn to think creatively about the world around them locally, nationally and internationally. We aim for pupils to have an awareness of the diversity of landscapes across the world and how these have developed in the way they have: both naturally and through human influence. Our curriculum is implemented and structured in a way that encourages pupils to develop an understanding in how humans affect the world and to realise their own responsibility and stewardship within this. The impact this strives to achieve is for pupils to develop a sense of identity, understanding, tolerance and curiosity in their own community and in other landscapes and cultures across the world

Through our Christian Values of Courage, Creativity and Respect, we will create a nurturing environment which fosters curiosity and an achievement culture for all. We will pursue high expectations in both pupils’ learning and their personal development within our supportive and friendly environment with a strong community ethos. Through an adaptive and child-centred curriculum, we will meet the needs of each individual to prepare them for their future.
