Music

At Rowlands Castle St Johns, we intend to offer a meaningful, practical and creative music curriculum. Children will learn the seven dimensions of music to help deepen their understanding of how music is composed. Children can implement these skills by experiencing live music, exploring music and creating their own music through compositions and performances. The intended impact is that children begin to develop their listening skills and learn to respect other people’s interpretations of music, they grow in confidence and have the courage to perform and they become more creative as they draw on the seven dimensions when composing.

Song of the week:

LO: To listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions, including the works of the great composers and musicians.

Week 6: Better When I'm Dancing (Peanuts Movie)

Through our Christian Values of Courage, Creativity and Respect, we will create a nurturing environment which fosters curiosity and an achievement culture for all. We will pursue high expectations in both pupils’ learning and their personal development within our supportive and friendly environment with a strong community ethos. Through an adaptive and child-centred curriculum, we will meet the needs of each individual to prepare them for their future.
